April 2021
"The world need all kinds of minds." -Temple Grandin
Hello! Hola! Bonjour! Ciao! Salut! Salaam! Ni Hao!
Welcome to Leda HR’s April Newsletter! April is Autism Awareness Month and World Down Syndrome Day was March 21st so it’s the perfect time to talk about neurodiversity in the workplace.
While many employers believe that hiring a person with a diverse-ability is the right thing to do (and there is a large body of research showing the positive impact in the workplace and on the financial bottom line), they hold back because they are unsure where to start.
Here are some resources to get you started!
Read our blog post 4 Tips to Make Your Onboarding Process Inclusive for People with a Neurodiversity and learn about how Vancity Savings Credit Union prioritizes inclusion.
Visit the President’s Group website for the resources including the Untapped Talent: B2B Guide to Innovative Hiring and Talent
And watch this great, short video in celebration of World Down Syndrome Day for a wonderful message about the power of inclusion in the community. Yes, one person – one employer – can make a difference. Plus, there’s music from Sting!
